Sarah makes the shortlist!

In September 2023, Sarah received an email to say that her script, Spinster, had been shortlisted for a Channel 4 Writing for Television Award with Lime Pictures. Of course, Sarah was both instantly excited and terrified. She would be invited to the set of Hollyoaks at Lime Pictures in Childwall, Liverpool. 

After a, somewhat frenetic, interview (basically, she didn't shut up the entire time) alongside two fellow finalists, Sarah heard that she had not been successful in winning the award, but was invited to take part in a Script Development Group taking place in late 2023/early 2024 alongside a number of talented finalists.

Sarah was pleased to receive the following feedback from Joshua Halm, writer at Hollyoaks:

‘Sarah is an absolute tornado of positive energy, charisma and brilliant vibes. One thing we want to reinforce is that that this no reflection on her talent and ability; the winner just had the edge in regards to soap storytelling. We were splitting hairs coming to a decision and although we ultimately went with the winner, we'd like Sarah to know that she's an absolute tonic and a real force to be reckoned with that would fit wonderfully in many a writers room. We’d also really like to encourage her to apply again next year. We really loved her writing and personality and we have absolutely no doubt that success lies in her future.’
